The Government announced today (April 28) that the Chief Executive had made the appointments to the Council for Carbon Neutrality and Sustainable Development with effect from May 1, 2023, for a term of two years. The membership is as follows:

The Council will advise the Government on decarbonisation strategies and promote participation in deep decarbonisation by different sectors of the community.
A Government spokesman said that the Council membership was a representative mix of stakeholders from different sectors. "We look forward to working closely with the Council in achieving carbon neutrality before 2050 in Hong Kong," the spokesman said.
The Office of Climate Change and Carbon Neutrality under the Environment and Ecology Bureau will provide secretariat support to the Council.
