  • Digitalization: Replace paper forms with electronic forms. Work with Certified Green Recyclers in paper recycling.
  • Electricity Consumption: Install energy efficient lighting devices such as LED lamps with Grade 1 or 2 Energy Label. Turn off unused lights during overtime work and after normal operating hours. Apply lighting zone control to enable switching on/off lighting independently in different parts of the premises.
  • Temperature Control: Ensure that the air outlet and filter are free of dust to maintain optimal air volume and refrigerant efficiency; if the air volume is insufficient, the actual cooling effect will be greatly reduced. Place green plants (such as fig trees and monstera) to absorb heat and increase humidity through leaf transpiration, thereby improving comfort.
Kum Shing Group Limited

Management System and Policy:

  • We implement Environmental Policy, Climate Change Policy, and an integrated HSEQ management system certified to ISO14001.

GHG Inventory Assessment:

  • We have been calculating our GHG emissions and compiling annual GHG inventory since FY2021/22, using GHG Protocol and ISO14064-1.

Sustainable Construction:

  • We implement environmentally responsible construction practices using BIM, off-site construction (DfMA and MiC), and low-carbon materials with high recycled content.

Electrification of Equipment, Machinery and Vehicle Fleet:

  • We have introduced electric alternatives for smaller equipment and over 40 electric vehicles for daily business operations.

Renewable Energy:

  • We promote the use of renewable energy in our operations by installing solar panels at headquarters, site offices and carparks, using solar-powered equipment, and setting up solar- and wind-powered lamp posts at site offices.

Waste Reduction:

  • We use GPR surveys and trenchless methods to minimise excavation. We utilise reusable road markings, BIM and off-site construction to reduce material and on-site waste. We reuse excavated soil for backfilling and cable drums for cable works. Recycling facilities are set up to collect and sort recyclables.

Sustainable Procurement:

  • We assess environmental impact across project lifecycles, starting from material sourcing. We prioritise suppliers and subcontractors with better HSEQ performance or offerings of environment-friendly products or services. We embrace green procurement by choosing tools and equipment with higher resource efficiency, and sourcing materials locally when possible.

Sustainability Awareness:

  • We raise sustainability awareness among employees, frontline workers, and subcontractors through newsletters, seminars, annual HSEQ Convention, and regular meetings.
